Welcome to Hythe Cellar.

Sharing our love for Italian and English wine.

Following a love for the charming town of Hythe and a dream of opening up a wine shop by the sea, owner Alessandro opened Hythe Cellar in 2021.

Based on Prospect Road, just opposite Waitrose, the neighbourhood wine merchant and bar offers a vast, carefully selected range of wines, with over 200 Italian wines from 40 different producers and 38 English wines from 7 producers on its elegantly presented shelves.

Having spent many years in the industry, Alessandro and the Hythe Cellar team share their knowledge and passion for some of Italy's finest winemakers and the ever-growing English wine scene.

You are invited to stop by and try and learn about our wines. Purchase a bottle off the shelf to take away, or sit in with a glass of something special that our sommelier has carefully selected.

Feeling peckish? We also offer cheese, salumi and charcuterie carefully selected from regional cheesemakers and butchers, as well as tasty weekly specials and oysters on a Sunday.
